Holy freaking crap, batman!
You know, being away from the Rack certainly frees up a lot of time. ;o)
Anyrate, my sister called me this morning. Final proceedings for Mom and Dad’s divorce are next Thursday and Friday. Finally. Sheesh. Over TWO FREAKING YEARS. Also, our grandparents on Dad’s side are coming up on Tuesday to stay on Great East Lake and support dad. Mmmm. Great East Lake. Hope I can visit.
I’ve realized that Splinter Cell is the exacty opposite of Halo.
Halo: BLAST! BOOM! KILL! BAM!
Splinter Cell: *scootch*….*scootch*…*scootch*…*thwap*…*scootch*.
Patience, grasshopper. Gah, patience sucks ass.

Ooooow
Good news: I didn’t rupture a tendon, just a really really bad strain. PT said that I got more microtears in the muscle than usual, had delayed onset muscle soreness, and that all caused the swelling. No, I’m not that jacked, that is a SWOLLEN bicep. SWOLLEN. The camping trip is on, says Rena’s livejournal, at the end of this month. Woohoo!
Bad news: EMT class got cancelled. :o(
More bad news: Ended up being a pigpile on Jamie at hatrack. Sucked. So, yeah, I’m upset and hurt and definitely taking a Hatrack break. Dunno for how long, I’ll get on with my life and see how it all goes. *shrug*

Sunday
Wake up. Get ready. Pack. Fly away from Nathan until August. :o(
On the plane, I end up talking to the woman next to me for an hour and a half. She’s a born-again Christian and we end up talking life and theology. We talk about Nathan and my dilemma with him not being allowed to heal using the gifts of reason given to us for use in the first place, and instead being asked to have blind faith. Dammit, the sabbath is made for man, and not man for the sabbath. We’re SUPPOSED to heal ourselves first.
Anyway. She doesn’t try to convert me, just talks about theological differences. Very cool.
At the end of the second flight, I see my house from the plane.
I miss Nathan.

Saturday
We wake up and go out to lunch at a Brazilian restaurant with Nathan’s parents. Lots of talking, lots of meat-eating (meat on swords!!) Nerve wracking, ’cause of what Nathan has to tell them about himself, not to mention us. He tells him about his stuff while in the car.
Silence. So uncomfortable. They don’t understand. We don’t talk about our engagement.
At the house, Nathan goes to talk to them again. They say I just want him not to go. He defends me. I just want him to talk to his bishop. Everything is HIS decision, and if he’s meant to go, he needs to go.
Anyrate. We go to distract ourselves at Lagoon, a great amusement park. But we’re totally drained from talking to five that morning. Nathan turns to me in line for the swings. “Honestly, I’m totally drained. I so want a nap.”
Me. “Me too.”
“Want to go home and nap after this ride?”
“Absolutely.”
And we do (after searching for his car a bit in the parking lot). Naps of a couple hours on the couches downstairs. We kept shifting into the same sleeping positions. Nathan snores when he first falls asleep, then goes quiet. Hehehe. Wake up, edit photos. Just hang out till fireworks and go with Nathan’s family (SHORT fireworks, 20 min). We both feel the same way about fireworks: repetitive. But taking shots of them makes them a bit less boring. Before we left, we played And It Came to Pass with Nathan’s parents. That was quite fun.
Get back. Hot tub it. Watch In America and talk till four in the morning when Nathan’s mom yells at us to go to bed.

Friday
Woke up, headed down to the BYU campus. Got lunch at this odd chinese place with…bland food. Was edible, but not exciting. But…I got to be with Nathan, and not once second of that is wasted, unless I have to wee. And I didn’t.
We headed over to the BYU campus, talked to admissions and financial aid. Apparently it’s easy for me to get in, and I qualify for financial aid since I’m going post-bac for a purpose (to get into a PhD program). So…depending on housing, aid, and funds, I could go to BYU for a year. But that’d be a huge change. And I’d lose my docs. :o( And not sure about insurance.
So…yeah. It’s there.
Then we got to go to Amy’s! Woohoo! It was…awesome. Nathan and I didn’t plan on telling anyone until someone noticed the ring. *rolls eyes* Unobservant people. Anyway, we help Amy’s beautiful three daughters decorate for Vladimir’s birthday (Vlad being Amy’s husband and the father of three beautiful, smart, endearing kids). I help chop onions, we play Clue and Nathan spanks us at it. We started playing this neat game called Carcassone but I get really distracted as people begin to really arrive (pooka and her adorable endearing own kids), then Pat (who is freaking awesome), and Ruth and Jonathon (also freaking awesome), and Josh (effing awesome)… I already miss that crew!
We chatted and went outside to eat the good food. Teased each other. Earlier, Pat had trashed Tasha (amy and vlad’s oldest) at Halo. Then…on to MAFIA!
Holy freaking awesome, Batman. Great fun was had. Ruth got me killed in the fourth game right out, ’cause in the game before, she’d commented that every time, my hunch on who was mafia was dead-on-right even if I couldn’t logically argue why and asked what my hunch was.
It was the world’s worst liar Nathan who saw Spider Man twice. I said “Nathan’s mafia. Kill him.”
He died and the townies won again! Next round, I got killed outright by Pat and Vlad. *mutter*
At one point, I got asked to defend myself when I was accused.
My answer? –|–
Damn right. I was a townie, btw. Then Pat announces he has to leave and Nathan decides to go for it and announces we’re engaged.
Shock and awe!
Pat kept saying “Wow…just…wow.”
Then, “So, when can we post it on hatrack?”
“Soon as you want to.”
“Give me your laptop.” hahahaha. Amy and Vlad have wireless in their house. Mmmmmm.
So pat posts.
We tease Katie over the phone about it, not telling her till she’s able to read the Rack. Eat cake and ice cream (I eat ice cream, forgetting that my stomach HATES it, gah). Talk more and more with Amy and Josh. Finally call it a night and head back to Bountiful.
Talked into the wee hours of the night.

Thursday
Woke up to an audience of Nathan, Megan (his sister), his mom, and the two little dogs (Boo and Lucky). Got up showered, headed for lunch at Spanky’s. Mmmm. Spanky’s. Those are some good sandwiches right there. Went back, cruised the internet, edited photos, then went over to Alex’s where I got to meet Nathan’s best friends Alex and Sam. Two great, funny guys. We headed to Sam’s and watched Eddie Izzard. Then we headed up to the outdoors mall and cruised around waiting for the showing of Spider-Man 2. Played pool, grabbed dinner (Chinese and Pizza). Sam offered to flip Nathan off. Nathan showed them the ring, we chatted. We all managed to snag fortune cookies and added the required “in beds.”
Saw the movie in an awesome theatre. Good movie, too. Headed for Sam’s again, played Halo (got my ass trashed. Stupid boys). OH…wait…Sam told me a secret about Nathan.
That wasn’t the first time he saw Spider-Man 2. Bastard.
Halo. Then Invadoer Zim (whacked out) and some other English claymation thingie that was also whacked. Ate papa john’s pizza, went back to Nathan’s. Cuddled and watched Analyze This. Talked into the wee hours of the night.
Love him.
